As he looked out, Elisha saw a surrounding army of Syrians.
His younger assistant looked out and saw the overwhelming number of soldiers around and about them.
The younger man said to Elisha,
“How shall we do?”
Elisha, who knew Elijah and desired and received what Elijah had… looked at the young man and seeing
MORE than the young man did,
looked to Heaven and asked The Father,
“Open his eyes, that he may see”.
Then, the younger man saw what Elisha saw.
If you have younger men in your life
you must lead them and pray this prayer for them.
You must spend time with them. listen and be aware of where they are and at what stage they are in.
After gaining growth and vision and maturity yourself,
you must do this for those not where you are.
It is not limited to physical age…
it’s Spiritual.
You may be older spiritually than a guy older than you in physical years.
The same leadership and attitude of prayer holds.
For, if we who are older or mature do not these things for the younger… know that some other source of influence will.
We do have a common enemy….with great influence.
Do not fail these younger guys.
It’s the fundamental element of
FIGHT CLUB.
Notice the younger.
Teach them to be, lead them to be, and show them how to be a Man.
Lead them to be a spiritually driven Man.
Example for them what it is to follow Christ in an evil world. Show them how to be in the world,
but not of it.
Lead them by words and more so
by a lifestyle of dedication to Christ…and His Words.
Do not abdicate your responsibility.
Many do.
Do not leave them to “find” their way.
An incorrect “way” will find them.
We have a common enemy.
Elisha did not leave the boy alone.
He prayed God to open the young man’s eyes.
The young man gained sight he would not have had for some time to come….or maybe, ever,
You would want the same thing done for you.
